This is also called tagging whereby you mention or refer to people in status updates. This can only work on a computer. Whenever you want to mention someone's name, type the @ sign and type your friend's name immediately. E.g @Olayinka Oladele.
Before you even finish typing the name, you will be shown your friends that have their names beginning with the letters you have typed. Your friend will receive a notification that you have mentioned him or her. This has made status updates fun by mentioning friends names which will appear to other people as link. You can also mention more than one person in an update.
