Top 7 futuristic phones



Technology today is evolving at a drastic speed, what seems to be new today turns out to be outdated the very next day. Cellphone devices have become an integral part of everyone’s life. The technology is keeping itself abreast with the growing demands of user interaction. Mobile phones are flooded with additional features; things which were seen impractical earlier are now seen viable and practical. The devices are now becoming thinner and thinner with added aesthetic value than the previous ones. You can see newer dimensions of user interaction being tested every now and then.

1). NEC Tag Phone

This cellphone device is flexible and soft kind of phone which can be wrapped around the user’s wrist. It has the capacity to change its shape as per the phone mode, which is possible due to the shape memorizing material and the presence of multiple pressure sensors. It is created using malleable rubber which helps you in changing the shape manually as well. The cellphone devices never had the term flexible associated with it, however, with NEC Tag Phone things would certainly change and it can influence the entire new generation of unique mobile designs.

2). The Nokia Morph

This concept phone has been created by Nokia in coloration with the Nanoscience Center based at University of Cambridge. It is the most flexible cellphone device in the truest sense. It renders you a freedom of shape in different ways, including making it a Tablet PC, a simple smartphone or a wrist band, Nokia Morph has the potentials of turning out to all these forms. You can put the Morph in three different modes including standard, bracelet and landscape modes.

The standard mode is just like any normal handset wherein you can make and receive calls, send out text messages and use it unlike any other mobile phone. In other words, this mode suffices all the basic use of a mobile phone. The bracelet mode is for the stylish users, wherein you can wrap it across your wrist and thus can use it like a watch or for the video chats. The landscape mode helps you to use Morph as a tablet PC, wherein the complete surface becomes a touch screen thus enabling you to use the device to check mails, chat and watch movies easily. The presence of nanosensors in Morph helps you to get a complete control over the device.

3).The Concept Pen Phone

The Concept Pen Phone would appear with number of features as often seen in the James Bond movies. The various features in it include a USB slot and a microSD card slot which comes with the earpieces along with bluetooth as well. As of now, this phone can be termed as the smallest mobile phone design, but the fact is, it is not in production as yet. Though, Haier has created a model which resembles to a pen phone, but still it cannot be termed as a true Concept Pen Phone.

4). Asus Aura Concept Phone

This device is developed by Egy Studio (a Hungarian design company) for some Taiwanese vendor. The Aura Concept cellphone carries a movable navigation module along with sliding QWERTY keyboard and navigational buttons. Besides, there are other number of features like the 3.9 touch screen along with 2.0 MP camera, HSDPA, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, a microSD memory card slot, GSM and UMTS. This device is pretty slim with a dimension of 97Ã - 49x6mm and the total volume is around 28cubic centimeter.

5). BenQSiemens Snake phone

It is somewhere close to the above discussed Tag Phone. The BenQSiemens Snake phone is developed in a snake shape and could be wrapped around the user’s wrist like a wristband or watch. It is a very good device for people who keep their phone anywhere and then search. Though it doesn’t carry much of the features, but looks cool over your wrist.

6). Handphone Cellphone

What sign do you indicate if someone is talking over your phone? You simply extend your pinky and thumb outward in your palm. This same concept or sign is actually adapted in the Handphone Cellphone. This idea envisions carrying your cellphone device just attached over the back of your hand. During the conversation, the mic is placed over your extended pinky and listening device could be at the thumb. It sounds too simple to believe, yet a reality.

7). Choco Concept

It is designed by Fred De Garilhe which is created using a small glass like the square pieces. The lines which pass through the shiny or glossy square of the glass based pieces simply gives an impression of a chocolate bar hence it is given a name Choco Concept. These lines simply lit up using the fiber optics and in this way demarcate the numbers over it. These numbers can be seen via the reflective surface when the screen slides in the upward direction and it then the four glass pieces turns into 4 different function keys.

Also, there are phones with no buttons, these are armed with multi touch screens, audio systems, accelerometers, video and audio systems and a wide range of media and productivity features. Now, you have smartphones which comes with wide screen experience, seamless integration, surround sound etc. However, the demands for additional new features from the users and geeks never seem to end.

Visualizing the way the future gadgets would shape up and appear is really very intriguing. With these seven futurist cellphone devices, you can at least imagine how the upcoming mobile phones in the future would appear. It’s really amazing to know and talk.

This is a great article. Concepts of things to come. Or of futuristic gadgets that may not actually see the light of day.

However, your article would've been so much better if you had posted the pictures of the gadget Long with the explanation. It would have made the conceptualisation better!
