First, you have to activate your phone number for facebook. To do this, make sure you have input that number on your facebook profile as your mobile phone number.
The next step is that you will have to confirm your phone number with facebook by
sending "fb" (without quotes) to 40405 via text message. Facebook will reply you with a code to submit, write it somewhere.
NOTE: If you have not input that number as your mobile phone number on facebook, This tip will not work. To input your phone number, simply log in to your facebook account, click on profile, then click on Edit profile.
You will see a text box where you will be asked for your phone number.
After you have confirmed your phone number with your facebook profile, go to your facebook homepage, look for settings, click on it then click on sms link or tab. You will be told to send the the code i gave you above with your phone number. If you have already done that, click on next then input the code facebook sent to you in the text box provided. Click on next and follow the remaining instructions. After following these steps, You can now post , comment, like posts, reply messages and Accept friend requests on facebook trough text message. From that time, You will be able to receive free updates on your phone from facebook (This one is free).
If you wish to post, reply messages, like posts, accept friend requests, You will be given a short code to reply the update sent to you. Messages received from facebook is free while the ones sent from your phone will be charged by the network you are using.
